Here are Daphne and Arielle introducing the doe goat kid, Jane Doe, to the great outdoors. This will be her first full day outdoors since she came to live in the cottage with us. We had to bring her in last winter because she was born on the night of an unseasonably late winter storm when temperatures plummeted to around -20C. She lost the tips of her ears to frostbite, but aside from that is healthy and vigorous. Now we are teaching her she is a goat, not a people or a dog or a cat–all she’s ever known till now.
